In her role as an interpreter, Allison has screened clients within Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities, identifying advocacy needs and issues such as family separations, medical conditions, rare language needs, and pregnancies. Allison also has prepared detained clients for their Credible or Reasonable Fear Interview as well as guided them in techniques for providing oral testimony in court.. Recently, Allison telephonically screened detained clients for Covid-19 symptoms.

Additionally, Allison works with attorneys who represent non-detained clients. In this role, she has interpreted meetings between attorneys and their clients, the questions and answers on their applications for asylum (I-589) and employment authorization (I-765.  She has interpreted conversations between lawyers and their client's family members as well as between lawyers and witnesses to crimes committed in their client's country of origin.

"I had the tremendous pleasure of working with Allison on an immigration case.  Her dependability, reliability, and complete fluency in Spanish were invaluable assets to me and helped tremendously in achieving a successful result in that case."
